As promised, account-less preferences were removed just now. I trust the three previous reminders did the trick, but if you have any concerns, please let us know. A free, secure account fully replaces the old preferences and opens up a lot more control and information to you. Get one now.

Wasn’t there some talk of new features for those of us with accounts? They keep being hinted at but I haven’t seen anything new.

This week, I promise. Sooner, rather than later.

That’s cool, since as I wrote in some other blog-entry, I already have an OpenDNS account for quite some time so this doesn’t bother me at all. However, I do have a few let’s say “worries”, you see, it’s that I use my two browsers (well, and computer in general) in such a particular manner, that this might or might not cause some problems in my case.
- for instance, I use Firefox browser in such way (with use of “MOZ_NO_REMOTE” user environment variable) so that each profile/instance runs in its own dedicated process, therefore I need to log-in to my account three or four separate times each week or two weeks when OpenDNS automatically logs you off.
- and also, I store my Internet Explorer browser’s cache, cookies and history on a RAM drive/disk, and so I start “fresh” on each reboot (luckily I restart my PC very rare, like once a month), and so logging-in with IE is also a bit of a pain in the, well, you know what.
Anyway OpenDNS guys, keep up with the excelent work that you are doing!!
Regards, Tadej from Slovenia
