Welcome Italians, Italiani benvenuti

Benvenuti a tutti gli Italiani che hanno letto di noi su La Repubblica. Ci gratifica molto sapere che il nostro servizio DNS, piu’ sicuro, piu’ utile e piu’ veloce, sia maggiormente conosciuto ora. Nelle prossime settimane, attiveremo un nuovo servizio da Londra, Inghilterra, che dovrebbe ulteriormente aumentare la qualita’ del nostro servizio per i nostri clienti italiani.

Welcome to all Italians who read about OpenDNS in La Repubblica, the largest newspaper in Italy, yesterday. And thanks to Luca Lanzara, our much appreciated Italian customer who let us know about the article and translated the above paragraph.

According to the article, all of Italy is having massive DNS problems and the newspaper recommends OpenDNS as a solution.

    Thanks for your service. A interesting feature for Italian surfers could be the automatic correction of misspelled .it domains. I myself write often .iy instead of .it, since the two letters are close on the keyboard; maybe you could correct the domain automagically ;-)

    My advice: start more OpenDNS’ servers in Europe. London is a good start but countries of southern Europe get better performances if servers are located in Germany (or France), for example

    Ho un problema che guasta una delle mie attività preferite. Questo problema ha un nome: Alice ADSL Flat!!!
    Da quando la connessione base, quello che utilizzo io, è passata ai 2Mbps, per modo di dire, i problemi sono diventati esasperanti.

    the dns is just a minor problem here. telecom italia can’t even manage to keep the network up to its traffic. after a month the problem is still there..

    I used opendns for about 1 hours, and had problem resolving www.twinhan.com and a link in asus site.
    Immediately I changed dns and both site works.

    Gaetano, www.twinhan.com resolves for me using OpenDNS, and every server has 210.200.136.192 as the valid address. Not sure what you were seeing 50 minutes ago, or why.

    We’re going to give the entire Internet more insight into our cache shortly.

    Hello, thanks for the service. I was really close to start a personal whois server on my laptop when i have discovered opendns. Great service, by the way now we ave to think why we pay for an internet connection that has majore issue. In addition to the overladed and unusable DNS server, telecom italia has very big routing problem. I don’t want talk of technical detail, but everyone who has a bit of networking knowledge know what telcom is doing, and how they are routing the traffic outside the Italy, they are using the cheapest solution.

    Qualcuno sa se configurando i DNS solo nelle proprietà TCP/IP della connessione di rete, funziona tutto a dovere? in pratica se non metto i due DNS nella configurazione del router ma solo nella configurazione della scheda di rete cosa cambia? Grazie!!

    Che vai ad utilizzare gli OpenDNS bypassando il router.
    Comunque fai nà prova, ad esempio scrivi www.google.chm e vedi se ti appare la pagina di ricerca di OpenDNS.
