[...] But, I’m sure these questions will be answered in the near future, after all, today is the company’s first day with exposure to the “public”. There’s already mention of a new feature on the most recent post at the OpenDNS blog. One important feature which is not yet available, but will be soon, is self-service control over the DNS settings. Ryan’s article, understandably, doesn’t mention this capability, since it’s not yet live. [...]

I'd love to see spyware rendered useless. The host file attack while effective is so much less elegant. Man, there are so many options. I'd even pay a small monthly fee to block porn, spyware, and add sites.

I started using OpenDNS yesterday and discovered that it is indeed a faster resolver than my high-speed Internet DNS resolver. OpenDNS's ability to correct incorrectly spelled domain names is terrific and in testing accurately identifies spamming and phishing sites. Definitely impressive. I'd like to see where they'll take it, such as filtering at the name resolution level to prevent unwanted content from being accessed by children, etc. Once again, impressive!

[...] I’m not sure on how far this could be a valid argument, as the openDNS system currently DOES NOT correct errors in the domain name itself, but just in the domain suffixes. As far as typo corrections in the domain name itself but in the domain suffixes. in a recent blog post, it was also mentioned that this service would put “CONTROL” in the users hands. One important feature which is not yet available, but will be soon, is self-service control over the DNS settings. Ryan’s article, understandably, doesn’t mention this capability, since it’s not yet live. [...]
